06 A3 2.0 or wait for the 3.2?
Looking to buy my first Audi! Looks like there is a 2.0L FSI available, and a 3.2L comming out in November 05'. Wanted to know if i should wait for the bigger engine, or get the 2.0 now? Thought i read somewhere that the 2.0 is not Quattro, and allwheel drive is one of the reasons i want an Audi. Can you guys give me some opinions on why to wait or not? engine mods are desired too in the long run.

i think that the 3,2 is available in europe now, ( not the fsi version tho ) but imo best choise is the 2.0 TFSI. not sure if that available in your location..., that combination has the best $$ / hp ratio by far
'The 2.0 TFSI has now been awarded the title of "Engine of the Year". Audi is the first manufacturer in the world to combine petrol direct injection with turbocharging in the spheres of both motor racing and volume production. '

Yes wait for the quattro. My only concern is that, currently a well equipped A3, is roughly crossing over into A4 price range, making it less attractive.. the 2.0T is nice though, especially when pair up to the 6sp auto DSG.

Im in Portland, Oregon in the US. I stopped down to my only dealership in the area and test drove the 2.0L. From what it sounded like, the salesperson said 2.0L is all it comes in here. Plus he was trying to tell me that it would be a long time till they see the quattro, or 3.2L. He kept saying 3.2L wouldnt be worth it and a long wait.....sales tactics to get a buyer NOW.
Ive never been much for automatics but the technology in this auto seems very nice. I test drove the 6sp manual though.
I do agree that the A4 looks like a good choice as well and has a little more space, except the back seats seemed tigher? Real world performance differences anyone?

I say get the A3 2.0T and when the quattro arrives, hand the 2.0T to your wife and get yourself the quattro. That's my plan... [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
Should I pay $4,000 more to get the quattro or stay with the A3, Im having a dillema myself. But Im leaning towards the A3 due to its Open Sky system and the DSG.
A4 2.0T Avant quattro 4dr Wagon W/ Sunroof package auto-tiptronic 3715lbs $34,060
A3 2.0T 4dr Wagon W/ Sport package DSG 3329lbs $30,685

As of now now no wife so that doesnt work...
I think i am going to wait for the 3.2 quattro. Quattro is on of the main reasons i want the Audi, besides the new looks. Id say go with the A4 Avant if you are going to buy two Audi's like you mentioned, go with something sporty for yourselft later :-)
