07 Audi S3 Problem - Hesitation/power loss at 3000rpm in 4th gear onwards
The problem is, after 3rd gear when I put the foot down to the floor, at about 3500/4000 rpm the power hesitates/drops off which isn’t ideal when overtaking. This happens up to 6th gear. If I bring the speed up gently then I can pass the 4000 revs and drive it fine. No engine management warnings ever appear.
I have had my car looked at by 2 different garages both using VAGCOM with one using 3 different diagnostic computers. They couldn’t find any faults so didn’t charge me a penny.
After speaking to others, it’s been mentioned a few times that the coil packs could be the problem here and that there was a recall many years back. If they are the problem, why is there no codes been thrown up and why isn’t the engine management light coming on.
I've also been told it could be the high pressure fuel pump.
I’d like an opinion before putting the car in to spend money on being told the guys cannot find a problem.
Note: I've just had the Stage 1 remap done which may just be exaggerating a pre existing problem as I had the issue before but less intense.
Thanks for any tips
