Default 10,000 mile service due - service indicator reset

A3 service intervals, 10,000 mile service, oil changes gather and confirm it all in one place

If I've got it wrong please correct me; if its right lets make this a sticky!

1. First service for the A3 is 5,500 miles. Subsequent services are every 10,000 miles. Nothing is suggested by Audi between these services (not even oil changes).

2. If your service soon message appeared before 10,000 miles and your service due message appeared at 10,000 miles it means that your servicer didn't re-set the the service interval when they did the 5,500 service.

3. You can reset it yourself. Just know that it won't remind you of the 15,500 service since it counts down from 10,000. Resetting the service indicator is done by gently pulling on the trip odometer button.

4. The Audi care covers 5, 15, 25 and 35 k mile services.

5. A dealer should mark the service manual when they do a service but any dealer can tell you when the services were completed on a used A3 you are considering.

yea?

Please no responses that begin with "I suppose..." "I guess..." "or it seems reasonable that...".

thanks for a great forum!

I just got a service lite at 10,000 (was serviced at 15000) it's to change the brake fluid which is every 2 years irregardless of miles.

oops! I meant to say I got the light at 20,000 miles. The service light is triggered by time (2 years) not by milage.

I think you will find it is triggered by time and milage. I got mine serviced at two years and a month later the "service soon spanner" symbol came on when I hit the next service mileage.
