Default how to reset the service indicator?

I've been changing my own oil and the computer is now telling me it's time to have the vehicle serviced. Is there a way to reset it myself or do I have to take it to the dealer?

Try this:

That post is for a '99 A3, so if it doesn't work let me know. I'm almost positive that it's in the manual, and I'd be happy to look it up if you don't have yours.

if i remember right, put the key in, turn it on, pull out on the right switch in the cluster, then pull it out again to reset.

If you can do your own oil changes, surely you can read the Owner's manual too. It's in there.

I read the manual after I got home. I was at work at the time of my post. As I read the manual, it wasn't very clear to me, butfalcompsx's info was the correct way to reset it. I do appreciate the typical smart a$$ internet forum reply though.

Well now it was well deserved.
