I just bought a 2011 A3 TDI this Monday and I noticed that my particular A3 has the license plate bracket on the front. The state I live in doesnt require front tags and I want a clean look on the front of my car.

I looked online for the front grille filler panel for my car and couldn't find the one I needed for a 2011 in gloss black until I ran into this one at ECS Tuning, so I thought I'd share.

I went ahead and ordered one since I'll save over $65 dollars over new.

Does anyone know if any new TDI's in teh Us ship without the front bracket?

 

I took delivery on a 2010 A3 TDI in February -- no front plate bracket, as my home state of Georgia doesn't issue front plates. My understanding is that the bracket/non-bracket grille piece is installed at the port or dealership, depending on if it's going to a state that requires front plates. Sounds like someone goofed up.

Do you want to sell your front grill that holds the plate?
My State requires a front plate and the front of my A3's panel that holds the plate was accidently broken so I need to replace it.
Please let me know if yours is in good condition as I'd like to buy it.
