2007 A3 2.0T not sold in the US...its here! brand new
I wouldn't have thought the S3 would have problems with hitting emissions targets. The FSI engines have reduced emissons over standard injection engines. The 2.0TFSI on the S3 has lower carbon emissions than the 3.2 V6, even though the S3 has about 15bhp more. It must just be the size factor again!
I've heard the smog reason from a couple of audi folks, that might be just smoke. I always suspected that a S3 might compete too much with a 3.2 A3. There was a rumor that 2.0T engine was going to be mainstay of A3's, and that the V6 would go away in the future. Do you think a S3 sportback (five-door) would be attractive?

To be honest, in the rest of Europe a Sportback A3 would be a non-starter, the 3-door would outsell it everytime. I think those wanting the S3 are looking for a small sporty hatchback. You do get the Golf GTI (2.0TFSI) in the states which is almost an S3, but then VW isn't in the same class as Audi for VAG reasons. You don't get the R32, which is the Golf but with the 3.2 V6.
Yeah, I'd imagine Audi dumping the V6 soonish, as it looks like they are leaning towards their direct injection engines. Altough it could be that they FSI that in the future...
I haven't driven either the 2.0TFSI or the 3.2 V6 engines, but I imagine there would be no too much difference between the two. The V6 would have a flatter torque curve, but the FSI would have max torque lower down. So drivability wise, not much difference, only top end power. I do agree with most people, that a 2.0TFSI with Quattro would be the ideal choice.

I actually really like the 2-tone in your 3-door. The US model with the beige glovebox, and bottom half of the dash i think looks tacky. Leaving the dash black(or making it all beige/gray) is a much better option. just having the beige leather inserts in the doors looks really nice as well. The 2-tone design we get in the US is the reason i opted for the black interior....if only the headliner was black too.

The 3.2 V6 engine has torque curve 236 @ 2800-3200 RPM with HP at 250 @ 6300 RPM (very expensive to add turbo charger)
As expected the 2.0TFSI you barely need to step on the gas for it to take off after reaching RPM's, and the 3.2 V6 you need to step on the gas more and rev it for it to take off, in which it does handily!
Love to see a 2.0TFSI Quattro also!
so what do you think ? maybe its a liiiitle bit faster than the 4 door version?? Ill soon be starting to find V6's and V8's here in my city and the altitutde is of 1800 meters above the sea level so...ill later post you some videos so you can se the wonders that turbo can do at big altitudes... those mustangs GT better watch out cause after my ecu flashing they dont have not even a little chance...

Yes those Mustang GT's will look like nags next to you, but then its a Ford (big engine, cheap interior, lousy paint job).
