2008.5 and 2009 2.0T Oil filter change
Since this filter sits upside down, how can you change it without making a big mess when unscrewing it? Is there a way to drain it before removing, without punching holes in it?
Thanks!
Thanks!

New 2.0 TFSI Oil Filter
OK, I found the answer and tried it. It works.
After draining (or suctioning out) your oil, carefully and slowly loosen the filter and wait until more oil begins to drain (or suction) out. When that's finished, unscrew and remove the filter without even a drop leaking out!
Apparently there is a mechanism to drain the filter as you loosen it, preventing any leakage.
This was the easiest oil change I've ever done, thanks to the easy filter access right on top, and using a suctioning device rather than the drain plug.
