Default 4 wheel drive INOP

Hi just bought a A3 Quattro...
The Quattro system aint working and has the skidding car symbol on the dash.

What can this be?

I was told this could be the haldex system...

Anyony have any info on this?

The car skidding symbol with a line through it means the stability control is disabled due to a fault. If the AWD has a problem, the stability control will be disabled because it can't function without the AWD system. The AWD could be inop for a number of reasons. First step is to see if there are any fault codes stored that would apply to this system. A fault in another system can cause the AWD to be disabled so, be sure to check all the modules for codes.

Most likely it's a Haldex clutch problem, either mechanical or electrical.

There was fault codes with the haldex and have a mechanic on the case thanks a lot.

It has to do with the brakes (ABS, ESP).
