My windscreen wiper moves when I start the car but then stops, it then begins to judder across the windscreen but stops half way. Not sure what is wrong with it does anyone have any ideas, it would be much appreciated.

 

The same kind of thing happened to me recently - at the end of a cycle (i.e. when the wipers stopped at the bottom of the windscreen) they would judder about for a few seconds.

I ended up taking the wiper arms off, lubricating all the wiper components and running the system through all the different modes, before refitting the wiper arms.

While this fixed things, I would have thought it was more of an electrical problem. It depends how the wiper system senses when the wipers are back at the starting position.

I was thinking that disconnecting the battery for 15+ minutes to reset all the electrical systems might help 'zero' the wiper position...although it would reset everything else (e.g. radio, ECU, electric windows, etc), which can be a bit tedious.
