Post A3 2.0 FSI Sport Auto 2003+(sensor in bad state)

Hi guys,

We have purchased the A3 a few weeks back and having quite a few issues, however I had a look in the air filter housing and there seem to be a sensor there that looks quite fried. Does anybody know what is called and a part number? Also the ribbed large hose leading from the air filter housing to the engine has some damage and a crack, how would all this affect the performance?

Currently we are trying to pin point why the car has a very fluctuating tick over, even when travelling at 70 MPH the rev counter needle moves up and down constantly.

Is this the intake air mass meter sensor?

Regards,

Adi
