Default A3 Bike Inside

I am considering purchasing an A3, but am wondering if my road bike would fit in the back if I folded the seats down? I would probably have to take off the front tire. I am really hoping it would fit. The dealer does not have any A3 in stock, otherwise I would just measure it.

How tall is your frame or your inseam? I don't see why it wouldn't fit since I use to fit 2 bikes in my old Scirocco.

Two bikes inside a car is one of my must-have requirements. I took my bike to the dealer to test fit before purchasing.

I can put both my 64 cm Rivendell Rambouillet (34" inseam) and my wife's 53 cm Erickson in the A3 at the same time with the rear seats down. Yes, the front wheels are off (but inside the car), but no need to remove rear racks or rear fenders. Front fenders, however, could be a problem, since the fork needs to be turned on at least the second bike.

I always put the big Rambo in first, and because of its long wheel base and my long legs (front seat is back a ways), the handlebars end up almost straddling the driver's headrest, but it works fine. You wouldn't have that concern with a Madone.

There's enough room to put a panniers, etc. around the bikes. But I used the roof rack when we took the A3 and bikes on a week-long vacation. BTW, with two bikes on the roof, I still got 23-25 mpg on that trip, except the day we were driving into a headwind (also true when I carry a sea kayak or two on the roof rack).

Thank you for the information, I really appreciate it. I am going to order my 2011 A3 TDI on Saturday.
