I have a 2006 A3 that burned excessive oil. Was told by the dealer it was normal. At 32K the motor went and required replacement. The car is again burning oil, the dealer denies it. The dealer is difficult and stating they have no obligation to help me. Anyone else needed a new motor? The car is now going through a litre of oil every 3 weeks.

 

How many mines per quart?

Have you had the PCV system inspected to see if it's fully operational (apparently this can cause excessive oil consumption)?

Do you have any mods on the engine?

 

Wow that is really odd. I may go through a quart in 5-7k miles and usualy I do an oil change around that.
