A3 Mats and Audio
Hi,
Anyone know if its worth getting the proper mats for the A3 or if i am better of jus buying a universal set?
Is there any way in which i can replace the current amp in the audi with a better one? Or if i can connect a set of 6*9's to the system? Or if i can replace the sub which is already installed in the back of the car as it sounds poor. I have the symphony system want to keep the current head unit.
Thanks.
p.s. This is for the slightly older model not the brand new one (2002).

A head unit willl make quite a difference to the sound output, but certainly the amp and sub are not too great. It is possible to replace the OEM speakers in the doors and rear, but the biggest change you will get is from replacing the amp and the sub.
There's a bloke on Audi-sport.net (Andy Mac) who makes a so called stealth sub, to replace the existing OEM one. He then runs it off a seperate 300W RMS amp which is also hidden, in the rear quarter panel.

Simply register with www.audi-sport.net and then send a message using private mail. You can do a search and find multiple entries from him.
Umm, isn't this AndyMac guy in the UK? I only say this cause I started looking at how to get in contact with him after reading this post and he seems to refer to things in 'pounds" and not "dollars"... just a thought
