A good fact on the TDI is there is allot of power available. But the down fall is the cost to get it.

Thats the only way to go if you have a list like a RDX or Prius, hell a 4Runner? WTF!! Ok buddy figure out what you really want.

I vote for the Prius. If you really have to think about it that much - between an A3 and a Prius. The A3 is the wrong car. Now, if your agony was between 325/330 and an A3. Okay. Subaru Impreza - A3. Mazda3 - A3. Those make sense. I don't even know what to say about that comparison. A3 - Prius. Huh?

Oh jeez L7 you agonize me...don't give us your prius speel. The two cars are completely different....the question is whether or not you hug trees? If so, go purchase a prius, if not go to your local audi dealership and purchase a vehicle that will get you to your destination on time and in style.
Prius, come on..are you serious?

Deb38 et al - I have a feeling y'all are misunderstanding my post. But, to clarify: since I may not have been totally cognitive when I did the orginal post. I was merely stating that if someone could even consider comparing a Prius with an A3 they should just get the Prius - since an A3 would definitely be wasted on them. As far as hugging trees? Not my concern. Driving - hugging trees. Totally different activities not to be mixed up.
to be honest the A3 has it for me ( never seen one of those others yet ) but at first sight yuk[8D]

Speaking of yuk, the current Prius is uglier then the previous Prius. I don't understand why all current Japanese vehicles have no side molding to prevent dings, it's like they don't care that you car will soon look like its been used for target practice. You see this lately with Honda, Acura, Toyota, Nissan, Infinity models.
Then I can never figure out why Toyota, Nissan, and Honda continue to sell nearly every car with plastic hub caps over steel rims? Throw in thinner gauge Steel body and you got a Japanese car! Most annoying is I had two Toyota's long ago and the door handles always broke!
Comparing Japanese versus European cars makes me laugh! So if you are inclined to buy a Prius go get one, I'm sure you'll enjoy that joystick for changing gears!
