How did you end up with your totalled A3 still, did you buy it back from salvage yard?

I thought when a car is totalled it becomes the insurance company's property, you get the value of your car less your deductable. Normally the totaled car goes to a local salvage yard, where it's auctioned off to the highest bidder and usually chopped up for parts. The insurance company gets to keep whatever money it got for the car in salvage.

The accident wasnt my fault, and i was goin around 45(the speed limit). Thats one thing I hate, not to go off on you Audinam lol, but since im 18 and its hit from the front everyone always thinks its my fault and i was speeding or doing something stupid to cause it! It just pisses me OFF!!!! So back to the main topic, lol, the insurance company didnt want it back. So if you know somebody that would like to buy it let me know =] .

So, if you are not at FAULT and your insurance claims you as NOT AT FAULT. Shouldnt you be getting a big time amount CHECK for you in the mail from insurance? So you can fix your A3 completely, or even get a NEW A3?

 

My insurance gave a check and paid off the car. I dont want to fix the car up bc I'd rather have a new one. Now I want to sell this so I(as in my parents, b/c they bought the car for me) can use it as a down payment.

 

For your audio system did you splice into the factory wires or did you find a wiring harness that plugged into the factory deck? I want to add an amp and sub but don't want to cut into the factory wiring.

 

you have to splice into it. Its very easy to do, and the wiring harness guide is on the headunit that tells you which wire is which.
