Default AirCon

Hi,

I am a total novice when it comes to cars. So please excuse my ignorance.

I have an 98 A3 1.8T and the aircon doesent seem to get very cold. The blowers and everything seem to work fine and the little snowflake appears as if the aircon should be on it just does,nt get cool.

Has anyone come accross this before or have any advice.

Thanks in advance
Jamie.

I had a similar problem with a 2000 A3 1.8T. Audi told me that the new sealed battery I had installed generated too much heat and cooked the fuse box that sits on the top of the battery. One of the heavy duty fuses is connected to the Aircon. Suggest that you check it.

I've just had this problem - had a re-gas today and it still doesn't work, I was told by the garage that something needs to be replaced that costs £500 ???
