Audi A3 2.0 Turbo leaking Oil??
Hi
I have a 2007 Audi A3 2.0 Turbo. Every 2000 miles when I check my oil
it shows half filled, so I have to buy a Castrol Synthetic 5W30 and fill it
up to MAX line.
Is this normal? I have asked my dealer and they say it's normal for
Audi Turbo's. But anyone I talk to they say that's not true, your car
is leaking oil.
What should I do? any though appreciated.

seems to be a common thing with the 2.0T. I recently had to add oil for the first time (I've only had my A3 for a few months) when the light came on. I called a couple Audi service departments in my area and they suggested 5w-40 castrol syntec. This one has the VW502 certification on the bottle. I had originally bought 5w-30 from an auto part store since they didn't carry 5w-40.
I decided to just stick with the service recommendation and returned the 5w-30. It probably doesn't make too much of a difference besides piece of mind.
....I had a beloved 1991 Nissan 300zx twin turbo. on my first oil change, i decided to use the red capped "performance" version of Mobil 1, which at that time was the 15w-50. well, it turned out that since the oil was so thick, the turbos starved out probably during startup...and the rest is history. ever since then, I stick to the manufacturer's recommendation religiously.
