Hi, i've just bought an Audi A3 yesterday, 1.6 FSI SE 2004, today ive just noticed that the whole center section of the dash is blank, nothing there at all, apart from when i open a door that light appears? Anyone know what could be wrong?

 

Sounds like the LCD screen has a fault, either get it on a vag-com diagnostic or replace the screen, a full rebuild of your clocks including new screen are around £150 - £200
