Thought I would come here for some insight...

I have a 2007 A3 2.0T 6-speed S-line with 18,000 miles.

Overall, the car runs great and is averaging 30 mpg (I log 90% highway miles).

My issue is that the engine shudders with a slight hesitation upon startup (cold and warm start). The idle is fine, performance great, and fuel efficiency all good. No issues whatsoever during normal operation. However, upon engine off, the engine shudders again with a clunking vibration and then thuds to a stop. I noticed this when I first bought the car last month but didn't think much of it as it was only during engine start and shut off. The vibration/ shudder is much worse during engine off than it is during engine start.

Just this morning, I went to start the car- I experienced the usual shudder and slight hesitation before cranking over, but this time the CEL stayed illuminated. I made an appointment at Audi of Austin this Thursday for my 15k service and will have them diagnose the fault code.

I was just wondering if anybody here has experienced similar symptoms. Or does anybody wants to chime in with an educated guess? I will post an update after Audi of Austin diagnoses the CEL but am always seeking additional advice and second opinions.
