Audi A3 Shuts Down While Driving
I have a 2015 Audi A3 with @ 38,000 miles on it. On January 27th, I was driving on a street with a 25 mph speed limit, and the car shut off out of the blue with a loss of steering control. All of the lights lit up on the dashboard, the hazard lights started flashing, and the emergency alarm went off. Then just the eps and engine lights stayed on with the hazards flashing and alarm still ringing. I was able to restart the car (eps and engine lights gone), and drove slowly to my nearby home. I had my car towed to Audi the next morning, because I was nervous to drive it, and my customer service agent at Audi recommended that I not drive it. Ultimately, the dealership said the computer in my car did not indicate the event happened so there was nothing they could do about it.
Then on February 21, another shut off event. This time I was braking for a red light when the car shut off. This time, just the hazard lights and alarm went on. Again, I was immediately able to start the car back up. Earlier in the day I heard a few brief beeps, and in hindsight the beeps sounded similar to the hazard alarm tone. I took my car back to Audi, and once again was informed that because the car's computer didn't indicate the event happened, there was nothing they could do. They are keeping the car overnight to drive it around to see if an event happens again, but I doubt anything will happen given it was 3 to 4 weeks between the first two events.
Can anyone help me with this or have had similar experiences? I purchased the extended warranties so will be covered for repairs/parts. I'm nervous about drivIng a car that just shuts off on me out of the blue. Not knocking my dealership. They have provided excellent customer care over the years, but don't seem to know where to start. Thanks, Gina

3/5/2020 UPDATE: Just saw this article re: Toyota fuel pump recall. Don't know if it's related but my car is doing the same things referenced in this recall article.
