Smile Audi Aux Input through CD changer?

Hello all,
I have a 2006 Audi A3 with a concert radio. I have an iPod and would love to listen to my music through an auxiliary input. I have heard a few different options, which is my best? Which item should I buy? Thanks in advance!

I use one of those old school cassette adapters too. But I think you can have Audi install one too. I'm sure it will be a couple bucks though...

I bought an adaptor that plugs in to the back of the head unit from ebay. search for ipod input audi concert on ebay and you should find what you're looking for.

If you go this route, you can control the ipod from the head unit or steering wheel controls if you have them, and it will also charge your ipod when it's hooked up.

There are also models that just ahve a stereo input rather than an ipod connector, and obviously these won't control your ipod or charge it, and will just play whatever you plug in via 1/8 inch stereo cable.

You can even get units with both inputs, like I did, and have the best of both worlds. That siad, mine won't work with iphones or ipod touchs, so ifyou ahve one of those or plan to get one, make sure you check for compatability on the auction listing.

100X better than cassette adaptors or FM transmitters. My ipod sounds so good thorugh my car system now, I could never go back to FM...

So I tried searching it and nothing came up. What does yours look like or what is the brand? Also what year is your car? And how did you get it hooked up?

There are several popular units here: http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_s...audi_ipod.html

The Dension units in particular seem to be the way to go if your car has the multi-display computer on your instrument panel, as it allows you to view & control your ipod playlists through the car's native display.

The problem with some of these adapters is that your CD changer can no longer be controlled. So make sure you ask about it.

We brought a 2011 home last night and have the same question. Our VW CC has seamless integration of ipod into the touchscreen stereo, and the A3's stereo seems like a giant leap backward. All it has is an 1/8" plug auxiliary input. Also it has no CD changer. We may take it back and keep the CC - keeping the Audi means giving up way too many luxury features!
