Default Blower motor not engaging

Simply tried to turn the blower on for heat/ac and randomly stopped working. checked the fuse which was fine etc. Is this a common problem in these cars and is there anyway to diagnose the problem short of pulling it out from under the glove box to see what's going on? It will blow nothing on any setting, but i can hear the vent mechanisms working when i change between defrost and regular ventilation

I had the same thing happen to me on my (much older) A4. It was indeed the blower itself that had gone bad.

Mine crapped out in the middle of a Texas summer (at about the same time my front driver window regulator tanked as well).

been a little lazy and finally pulled the code. so apparently my rear left locking mechanism is going and it's definitely a blower motor hardware failure

on a better no i also invested in an ecu reflash/remap... hello moaaarr bewwwst
