Bonnet Switch, temp sensor and 4 beeps!
Hello all.
A few questions in one post here for an A3 1.6 Sport 2000reg
Firstly just been tinkering around under the bonnet and noticed some wires leading to a switch at the bonnet catch/release. Should this be showing up on the dash when the bonett is open (like thedoors and boot do)because it doesn't at the mo? Are these switches cheap and easy to replace?
Secondly can anyone tell me where the external temperature sensor is and why i might notget any external temperature display? This only happened after i had a new dash comp fitted because the dial backlights didn't work on the other one. Would/could this displaybe enabled using VAG-COM?
Thirdly, has anyone any idea why occasionallyI hear 4 beeps coming from the rear passenger side quarter of the car (alarm unit presumably)when i switch the ignition on? It did this about 8 months ago, then stopped and I didn't hear a peep out of it since a few weeks ago.
Any help muchly appreciated.

RE: Bonnet Switch, temp sensor and 4 beeps!
external temp sensor is behind the front bumper below the head light,
first and last problems are related as its the alarm system telling you there is a problem ( connect the wires back up to the bonnet switch ) then see how it goes
