Question... So are you saying the Evoms has more throttle response and a noticable power gain? Or are you just saying it has more "sound" than Carbanios CAI. Because tommarrow I was gonna buy a Carbanio intake for my 1.8T, I have a custom heatshield in the mail already. Do you think I should go with Evoms instead?

I think I've already said that from what I know of the Evoms it is the 'proper' induction kit out of the two. I doubt you'll feel gains unless you rev the knackers off your motor but you'll probably notice the noise. That's worth a '10' on the grin factor alone.

The Carbonio is a tart mod and I make no bones about it. Possibly better airflow, no real increase in noise but looks damn good when you open the bonnet. Suits me down to the ground

[ot] Is it true what I was reading on Fourtitude that the Oettinger intake is in fact the Carbonio but with a different sticker and $566 to boot? I know I'm daft when it comes to spending on my motor but.......[/ot]

So your saying, you got no "noticable" performance gains from either of them, just sound? Do you have a heatshield with the evoms.. like a real custom made one?

Sorry, I think we're at cross purposes here. I didn't realise you had a 1.8T. Totally different intake to the one I was referring to in earlier posts.

Better everything from the evoms cai, throttle response and gains hp.
Here is the diffy, look at rich his first pic of his carbonio look at the orange sticker then look a bit further towards the frt. of the car towards the vent holes where the cai is supposed to suck from. At this point if you shut your hood bye bye vent holes, so whatever air is still capable of coming in while you drive is minimal compared to the evom. i hope that makes sense, i will try to post my pics tommorow. Falcom said it best the carbonio is a glorified carbon stock box. Hope i dont offend anyone with that comment.
