Good Luck!

Also quick question for anyone who has the EVO CAI... Does it require the Engine Cover listed on EVOMS, or will the intake fit with the stock Engine Cover? for some reason I remeber seeing somewhere, once you add on the heat shield, the stock Engine cover no longer works...is that true?

ONE MORE THING....noone mentioned the Neuspeed P-flow which I thhink is quite similar to the EVOMS. Anyone have any input on the Neuspeed? http://www.namotorsports.net/detail....NS65.10.97Heat
I have installed my EvoMS CAI about 2 weeks ago and am enjoying the new sounds coming from my engine. As far as the engine cover is concerned, you don't need to buy the EvoMS engine cover to make any of it work. At the moment I have no engine cover on mine, I do have the EvoMS one, but just haven't got around to putting it on yet. But it doesn't add to the functionality of it in any way. It is just a nice thing to have to cover up the engine. As far as the stock engine cover is concerned. I am pretty sure you won't be able to put that back on once you have the CAI installed be it the EvoMS or Neuspeed. You would have to modify it in some way to make it fit with the new pipes running along the back of the engine bay into the turbo inlet. And then if you do that you will have no way of going back to stock if you ever want to do that.

I have the Neuspeed myself and its a great intake. It does look identical to the EVO, but i believe the EVO is made of an ABS plastic, where as the neuspeed is metal. The idea behind the plastic i think is to help prevent heat transfer since plastic doesnt' conduct heat like metal does. I personally prefer the black power coated metal, it looks better and feels more solid then plastic would IMO. The difference in temps you *might* see i think are negligable anyway.

As far as temp is concerned, I accidently touched my EvoMS piping when I was in the engine (just after I turned the engine off) and DAMN that thing was hot to touch. As far as how hot it was inside the pipe no idea. But DAMN [sm=badbadbad.gif][sm=badbadbad.gif][sm=badbadbad.gif]... so yeah, it still gets hot

If one is concerned about intake temps, try looking into a fmic by forge, that will drop temps 20 degrees so the experts say. That mod will help you keep your boost up holding power, especially in the summer mos.

About $1200 I think for that part, I know it would be worth it. Is there room behind the stock bumper and all that to mount the thing?

Ugh. Sometimes I hate Google. All I got were a thousand references to posts on car forums. If I were writing search software, I think I'd put the .com">www.<blah>.com as the first hit, but that's just me.

Ordered. I thought about the Neuspeed, but I didn't like the metal pipe wrapping around the engine. We'll see if I care about adding a new engine cover (like Neuspeed offers), or if I just modify the stock one.

Just run without the cover. Think about all the weight you'll be saving.

Really, it isn't a big deal and you get used to it very quickly.

Cheers!

Gotta hand it to Chef.

I love the fact you've kept your A3 outside to the bare bones, but you ve've overhauled the performance.

It must feel great to pull up beside a tricked out car and kick their
A@# .........

LOVE IT!

Yeah, but they can hear me coming.

The coilovers will help, but otherwise I don't plan on doing anything else to change the outside appearance. Wait till the big turbo is in there...

Cheers!
