CAI in the snow??
The only problem I'd have is that it would be a PITA to switch it back and forth. I bet you'd find that you just leave the shorter filter on all of the time. The only location that it would make sense is in SoCal where you go 5-7 months at a stretch with no rain during the warm months. I just don't see the gain of the longer tube near the fog lamp enough of a benefit for the PITA factor. IMO

I lived in So Cal for 15 years and had CAI on 90% of my cars and never once did I change it out. There isn't enough rain to even worry about it. Now in a place like Oregon/Washington hell i would only have the engine bay version. I do think that it is the best way if you are in a location that gets snow and rain and the roads are wet for 4-6 months to do the swap. I would and did during monsoon season here in Vegas were you never know when the next road you turn on has 12 inchs of standing water.
