Too bad I had to miss the "friendly cruise"...

To support A3Night's contention that DSG > manual when he and Nam were running, I would like to point out that he was driving with his wife / girlfriend too. (I assume that because you guys drove off together; you didn't leave her on the side of the road before you guys ran, no?)

It was good to meet everyone. Now only 3500 miles until my first service and then, reflash!

Yea, she was with me... holding on for dear life.

I also had the AC on at full blast since it was near 100F

Nam,

It's sounding worse for you all of the time. I didn't see you through any of the corners behind me unless I got a long stretch. We have the same tires and suspension so what happened? It's easy to stomp on the gas in a drag, but takes some skills to run the canyon. On the other hand, it's just plain insanity to thread LA traffic at 100+ mph. You and Night sucked me in on the way to the canyon, but I resisted on the way home. I needed to let my brakes and tires cool down some. It also felt good to close up the car and feel the AC. We need to do this closer to the coast next time. 102 in the valley, but only 75 degrees at my house. Much nicer near the ocean. Maybe a run along the PCH between Newport Beach and Laguna? Might be a little crowded but the view and road are very nice.

about the "3 feet" it wasn't our engines or chips that gave me the 3 feet, i think my tires just stopped slipping 1/2 a second before he stopped slipping.....meaning Chef's probably got more torque on me, i couldn't gain anymore on him once we stopped slipping so i think if i DID run the red light, it woulda been a dead even match. as for the canyon run, i admit, i need to work on my corners, to be honest, that was my first canyon run in my Audi, so thanks for the experience. although the straight away, i was running 3/4 tank.

oh, and my carseats in my audi, they're not real car seats, they were all foam look-a-likes, so i shaved off 150lbs racing chef.... hee hee.. j/k

yeah next time, we should go for a longer ride, maybe let the A4's have a mile head start, then the chipped 3's run behind and catch up. =) if you guys wanna do a canyon run, we can drive all the way to Julian, but that's as long long LONG hot ride though.

pch sounds good, too many cops though.

Palomar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If ANYONE wants to go I'm in... There's several roads in the area that are wonderful as well. This should def be a early morning run (for heat reasons) and a BYOB and BYOF event.

I've been there several times and the hairpins are just crazy crazy crazy...

Here's some more info on the site http://www.lateralg.org/sandiego.htm
