2006 2.0T has cold start misfire that lasts 20 - 30 seconds then runs great. Had CEL come on about 2 months ago. Coils replaced under recall. CEL came on again 2 weeks later. Local mechanic said misfire cylinder 1. Replaced all spark plugs and running great again. CEL on again and obvious misfire at start only when cold. Local mechanic said likely fuel system problem and suggested take it to Audi. DEaler says we are not sure.....first we want to replace the injectors ($720), if that doesn't work then we want to replace the Hydraulic equalizing element, rocker arms ($1375). I found the same advice on a TSB from 2008. Is this likely the problem? Expensive repair for 15 seconds of misfire. What will happen if I just live with it?!

 

2 rounds of fuel injector cleaner and the problem has gone away....for now. Any thoughts out there?

 

i have the same problem dude....cold misfires for about 10-20 seconds cel shows multiple misfires and misfire cyl 3-4.....but onces its starts up and warm it drives like a champ...so wassup with yours>

 

Been buying gas at Shell....good most of summer. Had CEL again on a 100+ day stuck in traffic. Engine acted like getting no fuel for split second. Occured like 6 times in an hour. Filled up , injector cleaner added and CEL gone in a few days. Crazy! Think I'll keep adding the cleaner every other tank.

 

If it will help to my 04 A6 3.0 with 5th cyl misfire, I'll be the happiest person in the world just added now, will see whats gonna happen. If its gas, then somebody is steeling gas from us and adding crap instead.
