coming from s2k and wrx.. Should I get a 2.0T or the 3.2 S Line to be "happy"
Hi guys,
Just on the fence about whether to get the 2.0T or pay extra for the the 3.2. I did searches and couldnt find that much so I hope I could start a poll and see what people think now that the 3.2 has been out for awhile..
I am coming from a 2003 Honda S2000 and 2002 Wrx so I hope to not lose out on too much fun factor as I transition into something more practical...
Looks like DSG is the way to go.. will i miss out on shifting with a manual??
Im hoping to get some opinions from people who previously owned other sports/sporty cars such as evo, sti, gti, si, etc
Thanks a lot in advance! Hope to join the family soon!

DUDE,
I'ma fellow wrx guy, and a nicely equipped DSM as well... both very fun car and both AWD. You have . Make sure get AWD (quattro). You can get a quattro in the 2.0t or the 3.2 model. The car will still handle amazing so you dont miss out on any fun factor there.... But if you want to mod than your gonna definately wanna get the 2.0t model, cuz with a chip and other minor things the car can be more pleasing.
the new 2.0t has really stepped up, its a toss up now on whether you still wanna mod and have that "turbo sound" and the "turbo" car, or are you gonna want the "3.2 liter v-6 producing 255 horsepower / 250 lbs of torque"

I'm not sure which country you're in, but if it's the US, then no 2.0T Quattro for you. I really wish that my A3 2.0T had Quattro, but I wouldn't change what I bought and go with the 3.2. The mod potential with the turbo engine is SOOOO much greater and the feel is awesome. I stiffened up the back with a Neuspeed rear sway bar, and I plan on adding a Quaiffe ATB Diff soon to counteract the wheel spin. I expect, for much less than purchasing the 3.2, to have a very stable and quick sports car that the 3.2 would not be able to achieve without forced induction.
There's my $.02
Cheers!

Since the practical is the word...do you need Quattro for your location, or is a FWD adequate? Do you want better MPG, then the 2.0T gets 25/31 with DSG versus 3.2 gets 21/29? The performance in the real world isn't that much different between these two A3 models. For me the turbo with its broad torque range shines better then the v6 which you have to rev to get torque. In Europe the 2.0T has Quattro also, but interesting the S3 there is a moded/chipped 2.0T engine that yields 260-270 HP, so as you have been reading on this forum you can always chip the 2.0T.
For me the 2.0 T was more practical for a number or reasons...but #1 was it was fun to drive!
