Hey, I'm getting my first car (and I don't know a lot) and I was asked to get online to a forum. I am to ask around for a comparison of the new BMW 325i and the Audi A3.

 

A3 all the way! Asking us which one is better will only get you biased anwers most of the time. Wouln't the A4 be a better match for the 325i?

 

Well yeah I know there would be a biased answer here, but I would like to know if the A3 would do well in hills. I live up a very, very steep hill. I would love to know of other good features =D

 

If you get a Quattro it will be good for hills and off roading :-P

i did that once or twice in my ex-a4 quattro. miss those good times.

 

firstly the match for a BMW 325 is an Audi a4 - but if you are really looking at the A3 vs the BMW then the answer to your questions really depends on which A3 you are looking at.... and how steep the hill you have to climb and if if you get snow or not.... if you get snow, then go for a A3 - BMWs dont do well in snow or ice..... if not then it really depend on if you are happy with rear wheel drive or front wheel drive or if you want 4-wheel drive.... the BMW 325 is a powerful car - so I assume you will be looking at a A3 2.0T oe the 3.2 engine - in which case it really comes down to which one you like driving the most... I dont think there is a hill that a A3 will get up that a BMW wont... it's only if you want 4 wheel drive then the choice has to be the A3 quattro..

We have a A3 sportsback at the moment and did look at BMWs - we went for the A3 because we wanted a the flexibility of a hatchback and wanted 4-wheel drive.. but I must admit that the BMW was more fun to drive...
