compass?

RE: compass?
Normally the compass is located in the upper right corner of the rear view mirror. Chances are, you don't have it. I think in my mom's A4 it is a black .5"x.5" square that has no reflective characteristics.

I've got the same question... I have the 2007 w/ technology pack... and it talks about the compass, but I can't figure it out. Also there is a weird infrared like color emmitting from above the rear view mirror? But no compass reading in the corner...

RE: compass?
I searched around on some other boards. Looks like it is a mistake in the manual. My A3 is loaded and if the compass has a chance to be there on an A3 it should be on my car. I followed the instructions in the manual and nothing happens with the compass. The other posts on the other boards seem to make sense that the manual is incorrect to even include it in there. Not sure what my amber glow up there is. Must be just for lighting or something...
Case closed for me. It doesn't exist on an A3.

RE: compass?
Hey Hey! Right you are beartrap. They thought of everything. Except the compass of course. I'm good with the compass thing. I'm even okay with Homelink missing on the 2007 Premium Package. I was afraid the car would be outside anyway, someone would break in, hit the garage door remote, and then be in the house. I already had an opener, so no big deal. But then, why would the Sport Package get the Homelink and not the Premium? What's so sporty about homelink?
