Hi all,

I drive an Audi A3 2004 SE

I've had a problem for about 6 months, where my entire dash, speedo, fuel gauge, radio etc. Will completely reset and the radio will display SAFE.

Everything come back on after 2 or 3 seconds.

It will do this whilst parked and while driving.

However all interior, external lights and indictors will still function properly when it occurs.

I've noticed that the colder it is the more often it will do this.

Surely its not a fuse, as I'd imagine that nothing would work at all if a fuse had gone.

Is it possible that this is a problem with my alternator?

Any help trying to resolve this will be greatly appreciated.

I would think if it had anything to do with your alt, the problem would be more global to the car, not just the dash and radio, including starting the car.

 

Sounds like a bad battery or connection issue.
