Default evoms cai

Hi all,

just got my evoms cai installed and i was just wondering if its supposed to be that loud at low rpms? I can hear it suckin in air at as low as 1800rpm. Also it seems like im getting compressor surge but i have an upgraded forge dv with revo stage I software. Does anyone's evoms intake move around alot? the end of the cone is also butt right up against the back of my HIDs? can somebody take a photo of theirs so that i can be at peace? Thanks!

i noticed that even with my NS CAI, you can totally hear it sucking in air. doesnt bother me. actually sounds cool. but different strokes for different folks.

so i guess the loud air suckin and fluttering at low rpms is normal? but in addition to this problem my dv is making this weird "crrrrr crrrrrr" sound which i mentioned a long time ago. It dissapeared then reappeared after the intake install. Its not the "woosh" sound that the intake makes, its a different "Crrrrrrr ccrrrrr" sound from the dv (can hear it under the car) when turbo begins to spool at moderate acceleration. sometimes the crrrrr can last forseveral seconds depending on boost.Isthis due to my ecurecalibrating to the new intake and thusaffecting the dv? cozi was so happy thatthe crrrrr sound dissapeared up until iinstalledthe evoms intake.

Yeah, my car makes the same sound and it is just the air flow which is making the sound. Perfectly normal. I actually enjoy the sound as well. BTW, I have the REVO chip and Forge DV now as well, and I've had a couple different DV's and CAI's on this car and each sounds somewhat similar.

Cheers!

Thanks Chef, hopefully its ok. do you know if the ecm or ecu adjusts to the new intake? like does the car need some time to break in to the new piece?

I would get the car logged and check the air/fuel mixture, but you'll be good without doing that. It just would be best to have the mixture dialed in perfectly, powerwise.

Cheers!

Your chip tuner will be able to log the car with their laptop. Somebody with VAG-COM could do it as well. Your turbo should be working just fine.

Cheers!
