Fitting Rs4 Wheels
Can 18" genuine audi Rs4 Style wheels fit onto an A3 1.8 T sport (currently got standard 16" T sport alloys on) anyone got any experience of this, I know a lot of A3 have the replicas on but don't want to go down that route if possible.
I tried a set on but they stuck out from the body work as they were the wrong offset (33mm) do they come in different offsets to enable them to fit? Will there be any problems with rubbing on suspension etc with 18" wheels? Can it be done sometimes i hear YES others times I hear NO!!
Any info on sizing and offsets etc would be great,,
Cheers

RE: Fitting Rs4 Wheels
For starters, the A3 has a PCD of 100mm, whilst the A4/RS4 has a PCD of 112mm. The only other wheels from the Audi familiy that are compatible with your A3 are the old TT and A2.
TheRS4 (9 spoke) alloys have an offset of 42, whilst the 16" T Sport (5 spoke) A3 alloys have an offset of 42.
You may be able to get RS4 style alloys off a TT that are genuine Audi, and that would be the route you'd have to take. I don't see a problem with using replica RS4 alloys. I have them on mine and they look identical to the real things and have had no problems with them. I got them from rochford tyres, who offer a 5% discount I think through this website.
You can use 18" alloys on the A3, you will just have to size the tyres accordingly to keep the same effective tyre/wheel diameter as the 16" alloys you currently have by chosing the correct sized tyres, then rubbing won't be an issue.
