I've got the same problem now for about 3 weeks trying to figure it out. I replaced the Brake Switch and that didn't work. Brake Fluid is full. Bulbs are all working fine as well.

In 1st and 2nd gears, RPM's go up but the car doesn't seem to go. Kinda feels like i have my parking brake on. Then all of a sudden the power kicks in

Possibly something with the ABS system ?

Oh the ESP light came on as well, but turned off.

 

Was there ever a resolution found for this issue. My brake light keeps coming on and beeping during my drives. My ebrake is all the way down, brake fluid level is fine, and all lights work. I can also feel like the ebrake is catching the rear wheel randomly while driving, but it happens more often on fast acceleration and hard gear changes (it's not wheelspin, I know how that feels), I can feels it mechanically catching

i think it means your brake pads are low and it is time for changing

 

Why is my warning brake light flashing off and on in my car?
i've got a 2000 honda civic.

 

Its a battery issue, my car did the same thing when I failed to use the alarm to lock the car, as soon as I used the alarm to lock the car, it worked fine; the alternator might be bad as well.

 

It started with me yesteday with the 13 degree morning, a cpl of beeps and flashing brake light then it goes out and does not go back on again. I thought it just did not like the cold weather. brakes are cross drilled rotors two years old with a lot of meat left on the pads topped of brake fluid flash went Away until next day?

 

I wish I could figure it out mine does the exact same thing 2001 quattro A6 2.7 TT
