Default Flickering ESP light

I'm looking for advice; Within the last two days my EPS warning indicator light in the cluster flashes (car sliding icon). This happens when driving on flat, straight, dry surfaces. I can also feel the car adjust slightly, a light chug. I also noticed that when I turn the ESP off the light in the switch does not come on anymore, but the icon in the dash will light up and stay on signifying it is off. One time the icon stayed on and the ABS light illuminated, they were both on for about 30 seconds. The only mods are a Koni suspension and a trailer wiring harness. I have about 6k miles left on the warranty but I wanted to get an idea of what it might be, or the fix before I take it into the dealer.

Get thee to a dealer. The sensor or computers that controls the ESP is recording or reporting a difference between the speeds of the wheels, as would happen if one were slipping. The 'adjust' and 'chug' is the response of the ESP system to those inputs.

Like all computers it is doing exactly as it is programmed to do. It is responding to the inputs and making a corrective action. Unfortunately, the input data is faulty.

The suspension and trailer harness should have nothing to do with it unless the sensor or it's wiring were damaged during the upgrade installations. And if the dealer says thta was the case, then demand to see the damaged parts. Unlikely they'll pull that out to get around a warranty claim, though.

Thanks, I'll be dropping it off on Tuesday. This will be my first winter driving it and its getting cold, it will be good to have it ready for the snow. I can't wait to put the quattro to work.
