If the gas station attendant is willing to sign a written statement confirming the incident, you might have a good chance in small claims court.

I'm confused. If you have a claim, and I think you do, why not file it with her insurance company instead of going the small claims route? It certainly minimizes your effort, time and expense. The very least the insurance company should do is professionally clean your leather and carpets.

Good point you bring up. I have thought about this as well. I have her license plate number, thats about it.
I didnt get her insurance info, since she had left. What I will do is called my insurance company and explain the situation to them.

Once again I hate careless people... It suprised me you didn't say "as she was pulling away she lit her cigarette and threw the match out the window!"

I definitely say file a claim in small claims court... chances are she left the gas station and didn't think about it again... while you left enraged and lost sleep! I would want her stupidity to sit in her head for a while if it were me!

Either that... or find out where she lives and go throw some salami's on the hood of her car... or maybe pop a ping pong ball into the gas tank!!
This definetly just made me burst out with laughter!

It suprised me you didn't say "as she was pulling away she lit her cigarette and threw the match out the window!" HAHAHAHA!

If you want to track her down... its safe to say 75% of the time people use the same gas station... either the closest to their house or office. Ask them to keep a lookout for her... If they're nice they will most likely help you out.

Or better yet, see if they'll let you put up a sign and embarass the %*()) out of her!!! My guess is someone like that will be effected by that more than you think!!

I was just thinking, isn't it a criminal offense to pump gas in a car and drive away without paying? I see signs on gas pumps all the time warning drivers not to do that. Shouldn't the police be booking her for that?

Anyway, here is a couple of videos that might fit the context of bad drivers:

I watch these videos and go....who in the world gave these people their licenses?

She actually did pay for her gas. But not till after the gas attendant ran up to her car, and me yelling profanities at her. But she was MINDLESS when it happened, she was on her cell talking away.
She probably thought she already paid and the gas guy took the pump out of her tank.
She had NO CLUE. Just drove away like nothing happened at all.

She was totally into her phone conversation and lost sense in everything else. VERY dangerous.

Damn!!!

I would have ran up to her, yanked that cell phone out of her mouth, and smashed it with my foot. Then I would have pulled her out of the car by her hair, and made her lick my seat clean with her tongue. Then send her packing with, "how does thattaste b^tch?!?!?!".

Or something like that?

Cheers!

Wow. That is a strange one! Good luck. I would think you do have no long term damage. Gasoline should evaporate pretty quickly into the atmosphere. Leaving all the windows open was a good move.

Hopefully it's over and there are no more repurcussions.

People who do stupid sh*t like that while talking on their cell phones should be charged with driving while impaired. She might as well have been drunk and should be treated as such.
