Default GIAC WINS!!! APR...Loser!

I have had the APR stock, 91, 93 remap and full exhaust in my car for almost a year. I have had nothing but trouble. I have had 2 or 3 versions of the APR program in and no help. I called APR and they denied any problems. THEY ARE OUT THERE! I fixed most of the glitches by doing what GIAC recomends. Fuel pump upgrade, intake, etc...
Well I had enough of check engine lights and poor performance so I went to my APR dealer (He dropped them) and he put the GIAC 93 octane program set up for my full exhaust and EVO intake. He had a special name for it ? I guess they have different versions. Because he knew that I was "STUCK" with the APR system and their corporate line that all is perfect when he was a dealer for them he installed the GIAC system at a very fair price and did not charge me labor. I can tell you that in the 20 miles home the GIAC BLOWS THE APR SYSTEM AWAY!!!! APR has been NO help to me and now that I am able to compare, it is like a night and day. I also learned that APR has not been "Upfront" with my particular install. Ofcourse this is all second hand info. Maybe my problems where unique. I would like to think such a popular company isn't lying to such a committted community. NOT!
THE GIAC SYSTEM IS AWSOME. Globs more torque, throttle response and the car runs better.
THIS IS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT/CORRECTION I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN 20 years sports car ownership and racing!
I will report after a longer test run.
Boo to you APR. Good for you GIAC.

Not sure what the suit comment is all about. If negative hope you feel better. I positive thanks. How do replys like that help enthusiasts? I am only trying to share honest info after a frustrating year of experimenting with a lot of part s for a new motor.

APR and GIAC both have dyno tests on their Websites.

I hope others have succes with APR if that is there choice. I would not deal with them again. I thought that sharing honest info, results, bads and goods is what a forum of A3 enthusists was all about.

I for one respect your post. Your opinon will help others in choosing between APR and GIAC. Although its probably not the "grass is always greener..." case, I too wanted to change from APR to REVO in my 30 day money back period. Nevertheless, I decided to stick it out after the first audiforums socal gtg as REVO and APR seemed to perform the same. I have high respect for GIAC as I love Porsches... love them so much... *falls into depression*. I would love to try GIAC and REVO, however, I cannot justify shelling out around 700 for programming and flash swticher hardware. APR has not given me any problems so far so I'm quite content with what I have now. Be sure to stick around and give us your long term analysis of GIAC vs APR, you owe it to the A3 community

this raises a question for me...since all the 'chips' aren't actually chips but just reflashes of the ECU, does this mean that after installing your original stock settings are wiped clean? I know they have stock programs, but is the actual Audi code gone for good? is it possible to go back to truely stock? Question applies to all aftermarket ECU upgrades....GIAC, APR, REVO, whatever...

The "suit" comment came from the fact that these types of threads usually turn into flame wars.
GIAC Rules!
APR Rules, GIAC sucks!
REVO rules, screw APR and GIAC, etc.

If you're happy, we're happy.
Sorry APR didn't work out for you, I would say that you're in the minority - most people are very happy with the product.

Regarding the question about going back to "stock" on the ECU, I believe Audi themselves have the ability to return it to stock.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.

sorry for your loss of respect for APR, but i'd have to go with Evo and A3Night that the decision is yours, sorry that APR didn't work out for you, i'm running APR with my car and hasn't had ANY problems with it, maybe your problems are unique, or could be vag-com codes gone wrong, but whatever it is, sorry APR didn't work for you, glad you found a product you like, but pls, PLEASE don't hate, voicing and opinion is one thing, but hating........ is another thing

Evoic.......... i was expecting the same too as soon as i read the headlines
