No. You pick a 4-digit code and then only you and your installer know the code.
To access it, you would use a series of up-up-down-up-down motions on the cruise control stalk.
Without knowing the code, you're basically going to try forever and get nowhere.....

That's the security lock-out feature in a nutshell.
If someone is going to spend $500-$800 for a flash, I think coughing up an extra $60 or so for the lock-out is money well spent.

This site is great, we all learn something . Because of my past experience with the Tahoe and GM, made me have the dealer install all mods to my A3. now I know not all Audi dealers have motosport div. like the one I went to. Nor do I want people to think that I ignore the rules of the warranty, that would be stupid.

I have lockout on mine. Whenever I goto the dealer I change it to stock and turn lockout on... espeically with the exhaust and other mods. The last time I dropped my car off for a few warranty items, I went in with 280miles to empty on my DIS and when I got my car back it was 220 miles to empty. Joy riding *****

Can't say I blame them tho. I had my share of fun when I worked in Chrysler

I have the cruise control switch feature to go back to stock mode on mine, what i would like to get is the anti theft mode. What is the price of the anti theft upgrade?
I read somewhere that the upgrade to the APR system are free, what kind of upgrade are these? More hp's maybe? ha ha

And to show love on the other side...REVO has the SPS module for $189 that switches stock, 91, 93, and anti-theft. You'd need the REVO device in order to switch the programming so the dealer would be unable to detect the reflash. I just remember to remove the SPS device from the car when it goes into the shop.

BTW, my dealer and the new car sales manager at Pacific Audi both recommended that I get the GIAC X chip and said they knew people that could give me a discount. Hmmmmm???
