That Pioneer unit looks nice! How close is the dash kit to factory (color/texture)?

very close...the dash trim is a tad bit more textured looking but color is on point and still flows really well [sm=smiley17.gif]

the unit itself retails at 1000... with the dash kit, harness, antenna adapter, and sirius tuner, that added another couple hundred...

i do still have to get the steering wheel interface...
What do you mean steering wheel interface?! So that your STOCK steering wheel controls can control D3? If so, WHERE!?

Also, what dash kit was that? Did you install it yourself? And if I already have sirius, don't I just need the interface adapter, not the tuner?

I dont know if anyone has seen this site, but this place seems to sell the actual Audi Nav HU. If I ever the cash I will upgrade our
concert system that came with A3!

This is terrible....

I'm so easily suggestable! I had not even considered changing my stereo till I saw this post.

Now i'm lusting after a few touchscreen DVD and "do everything else except fly you to the moon" in-dash units. When I'm at, they had a sweet pioneer 6disc player and a much cheaper Sony W1 unit that earned an 8.3/10 from CNET. Something to think about! Wheels or the HU first?

Bless the web!

Has anyone here replaced HU themselves?! I am looking to install a AVIC D3 myself, but need a little help (RPM sensor, backup sensor wire, etc...)

Questions for OpenSkye:

I already have the OEM iPod dock and bluetooth, would they still work with the D3?
Did you install it yourself? or have stores like BB or CC do it for you?

Thanks!
