Heated Mirrors?
#4
I have a 2010 A3 with the cold weather package; when I leave the mirror control in the middle position, the heater is on, and when I move it to the left/right positions, the heater is off. It can be hard to see the effects unless the weather conditions are such that your mirrors would fog; you might be able to fog the mirrors yourself by using a steamer or even a hot cup of coffee.
I've read in other forums that if you leave the heaters on they can burn out so that they don't work anymore, in which case you'd have to replace the mirror. It's supposedly an easy procedure, but I haven't had to do it.
