I'm stuck in my driveway today...something has gotten lodged somewhere in/around one of my wheels. Can't see what it is, but it's large enough to make a nasty squealing sound and make the car drive like the e-brake is engaged. Called Roadside because there is nowhere nearby level enough to jack the car up and look around...any suggestions? Can't see too well behind the brake caliper, but no visible grinding on the brake disc.

 

Is it the neighbor's cat?!

 

wait for roadside help because the car has to be jacked up to find the fault ( is the weather freezing there? ) it might just be that

 

It turned out to be exactly what I suspected...a big chunk ofroad debris from nearby resurfacing project got caught on an inside rotor. I guess I was hoping here someone would post some way of getting it out myself. But I went ahead and accepted the tow to the dealership. They had the car back to me within 30 minutes and said there was only some superficial scraping on the rotor.

The towing company had just towed an A4 to the dealership from another part of town for the same thing.

 

Glad to hear it nothing serious. You gotta love road work. Your tax dollars at work.

 

No kidding. The state already cost me $800 for leaving gaping and unavoidable potholes that bent up two wheels on my Subaru last November.

The worst part of today was watching my baby do the walk (or ride?) of shame thru my neighborhood on the back of a tow truck...while quite a few neighbors looked on.
