I bought a used certified2006 audi a3 in a Audi dealer in Montreal (Canada)

roof, climate pkg, sport pkg, xenon, manual 6 speed

I recently noticed that my car dont come with the roof mounted antenna (small shark fin)...i'm I alone? why my car dont have it?

is it good or bad?

anybody in the same situation?

I'm not sure why your car doesn't have it, but sometimes I wish mine didn't.

You're you not alone. Plenty of 06 didn't come with the sharkfin antenna. Initally, only Nav+ / sat radio came with the sharkfin, but they have them on most A3s later on.

 

Sorry for the ignorant question, but why does it matter whether the car has a shark-fin antenna?

 

Well if it's "normal" then I dont care, I just wanted to be sure if I was alone and nothing strange had happen to my car before me.

Every official photos I saw had it, most members photo on this site has them too.

in the end, I dont really care because if my undestanding is ok it serve no purpose in most of the A3's
