Loss of Boost
Hello My name is Alex,
I purchased an Audi A3 a while back and about 1 month ago I "chipped" it (REVO) but recently I have been experiencing an extreme loss of power in the car. For example yesterday as I was driving on the 826 (Miami, FL) and was trying to change lanes and as I hit the gas pedal nothing happen I had to bring the RPM's to about 6500 to pass the COROLLA in front of me. I have heard something about the DV's in these cars not holding up once chipped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Loss of Boost
Its probably a DV. If your experiencing a loss of boost take it into the dealer right away. If thats not an option, check all the hoses from the turbo outlet to the intercooler to the throttle body. Also, keep your RPM's under 2500 if possible. Your turbo will overwork itself to match the requested boost which will cause premature failure. The DV is easy to get too. All you need to do is jack up the passenger side and get under the car and look toward the back of the engine and right above the passenger side drive shaft. Use an M5 screw with a small ratchet to remove 3 screws. Good luck
