Default Miles Per Tank

For all you 3.2 DSGers out there, how many miles to the tank do you get? I get about 360+ in my A4 2.0T.

My car only has 2K miles and the longest I drove on a tank so farwas 245 miles and filled up with 12.2 gallons, or 20 mpg.My average is 18 to 19 mpg. I usually fill it with 1/4 to 1/8 of a tank left. The MPG is a little disappointing. I thought my WRX at 22 mpg was a bit of hog, but 18 to 19 is worst. The car is heavy and every press of the throttle brings a quick response & probably a quick draw from the fuel tank.My commute is urban driving and only 13 miles, so it is not the best for fuel economy, but the WRX ate less.

Please remember that your engine won’t be fully broken in for quiet some time yet. I typically find that the mileage on my new cars continues to improve well past the 20,000 mile mark. From the "sublime to the ridiculous" department, one of our cars managed its best single tank MPG reading (and by extension the most miles on a single tank) last summer when it had over 145,000 miles on it. Go figure.

My 06 2.0TA3 manual has 53000 on it. Before I put the bikeroofrack on it, I would get 360-385 miles on a tank of gas or right at 30mpg. That was for mostly highway to and from work going 70 to 80 mph 60 miles a day. Driving in the city at all brought that mileage down to 25mpg or so.

Now once I put the roofrack on, the mpg went down to 26mpg on highway. The most on a tank recently was 350, but mostly in the 320 range. When I carry my bikes the mileage then decreases even more to 23 to 24mpg even while on the highway.

Hope all that makes sense.

Cheers

Not a 3.2...

But I drive a 2L TDI 200bhp version.

With highway driving I get 900km on a 50 litre fill-up. (560miles, 12.2 gallons) That's what I call some sick gas mileage, around 42mpg!!! Love the diesel. (Standing in line for my TDI V12 R8!)

I just got 400. I drove from Tucson to Las Vegas on one tank, and it was AWESOME. I just got my '06 A3 2.5 weeks ago and I love it.
