Hello. i just recently purchased an '06 2.0t and I thought I read several times that the CD player also played MP3 discs. I guess that was not true. Also, I thought I read that there was an MP3 player hookup. Am I blind, or do these features only come with either the NAVI package or the upgraded stereo?

 

Well, you're not going to like the answers.

Correct, the cd player will NOT play Mp3 discs.

You can hook up either a satellite service OR a Mp3 player/auxillary device. This requires a cable and connection into the back of the radio in the factory auxillary input. The dealer doesn't have any in stock around here but I know of people that found them from many different places on the internet. Make sure you check what the device offers and how it interacts with the head unit. Some features will appear on the radio and use the steering wheel controls and others not depending on the models.

Yeah. Me too. The sales guy was older...a little less tech savvy than I, so I was throwing him curve ***** all over the place in regards to thte navigation, audio, etc.

Roll with Dice big homie! I got one in my ride and I haven't seen a CD in three months. The CD is official obsolete for me. I'm waiting for them the finish production of the satellite harness so I can reconnect the SAT. If that happens, I'll never leave my car. lol. But for real, Dice is pretty tight. They were telling me in a month or so the sat harness should be ready.
