I AM ABOUT TO BUY AN A3 3.2 S LINE WITH 7600 MILES. FULLY LOADED. PROBLEM IS IT HAS AN IPOD ADAPTER AND I DONT HAVE AN IPOD OR A NEED FOR ONE SEEING HOW IT HAS SLOTS FOR MEMEORY CARDS. HOW DO I TAKE THE IPOD OUT AND ADD SIRIUS? DEALER TELLS ME ITS NOT POSSIBLE BUT I HAVE A HARD TIME BELIEVING THAT. ANY SUGGESIONS WOULD BE GREAT!!

 

A couple of things:
[ol][*]Please don't type in all CAPS, it's considered to be shouting and rude, not to mention that it's hard to read.[*]If your car has the slots for memory cards then it is NAV equipped. Yes, no?[*]As far as I know, all NAV equipped cars come with Sirius by default.[*]If your car is not NAV equipped, then the only way to get factory Sirius is to have the "Audio Package" checked off on the order form (which also includes a Bose "Premium Sound" system).[*]The iPod adaptor and Sirius are not mutually exclusive (although they might be if you add an aftermarket Sirius receiver, I kind of doubt it though).[/ol]

 

sorry about caps. it was on so i left it. car is an 07and does have nav. i read somewhere that you could only have one or the other. if it is there by default that is great but does not say so on window sticker?? if it is there by default what do i need to get? can anybody confirm that the nav plus comes with sarellite tuner?

 

just to clarify this is a used car.

 

[ul][*]The only thing that I know for sure is that the iPod and the CD-Changer are mutually exclusive.[*]As for Sirius, I'm about 90% sure that every 2006 and later A3 sold in the U.S. with NAV also has Sattellite Radio.[*]At this point I'd check your Owner's Manual.[*]Assuming that Sirius is built into the NAV based cars, then Sirius wouldn't necessarily be on the window sticker, just like the Bose Speaker system (which should also be on your car).[/ul]

just called another dealer and they claim it can be done as well. im not 100% positive but when i take it in to have the work done i will let you know. thanks for your help.
