Default Need help w/ grill surround removal ASAP

I want to remove just the surround and spray it w/ some black paint to see how it comes out.

i've read the post on how to remove your bumper and now my bumper is laying on the floor and now i'm stuck, how do I get the grill and then the surround off? Does it require cutting?

thanks for your speedieness

Ok, if you got your bumper off you'll need to remove a few screws. Basically, wherever you see a philips, remove those screws. Now the next part is kinda tough. Place the bumper face down on a blanket or cloth. Then using your right foot place some weight on the an corner of the grill. Then use your left hand to lift the bumper while pushing down the grill with your right foot. The grill should snap away from the bumper if you tweak it just right. You might need to use a flat head screw driver to work the clips. Basically you will have to use all yoru extremities to get the grill out... or get a friend.

Did you stay up all night doing this mod? I take it you broke the chrome trim piece when you tried to remove it from the grill right?

ya i broke it from pulling up on it, u just need to release the clips from the back and pull alittle and it comes out pretty easy.

I was up pretty late, had to wait for the paint to dry in the cold wet night. [8D] good thing i work nights
