I just purchased a 2011 A3 TDI S Line with 13600 miles this past weeknd. It's my first Audi so I'm checking out all the forums. I had a message come up when I got home that said Service in 800 Miles. It looks like this is primarily an oil change but does anyone know how much I can expect to pay when scheduled maintenance is needed on the S Tronic Transmission?

I suggest that you call the local dealership service department and ask. Prices for service vary.

Thanks for the reply. I was asking because I was thinking about the Audi Care program. I did call my local Audi dealer and not only were their service costs less than the total cost of the Audi Care program but they were less than the independent shops in the area.

Audicare will be beneficial when you have DSG, and if you have a quattro also, Audicare would pay for itself just on the DSG & quattro maint (that's if you are doing it with Audi).

Anyway, the oil&filter for the transmission and quattro are quite expensive, so it will be a little hard to save much there.

Thanks to you as well. I didn't notice the odometer milege (on your car) before responding. My A3 hasn't been delivered so I am going by what I have heard/read. I had been told that the Audi Care prepaid maintenance would be less expensive than if I were to pay as the service was performed.

I spoke with the service manager and he gave me a cost breakdown of each of the services that would be covered under Audi Care. The most expensive one was at 35000 miles and it was under $300. When they were all added up it was actually less than Audi Care. Quattro is not available on the A3 TDI cars. I probably should run this by him again though; he may have missed the S Tronic transmission because I thought that was a pretty pricey service.

I just scheduled my 15000 mile service and spoke with a different service guy. Apparently the other guy messed up and only quoted prices for parts on the sheduled service. The new numbers are $240 for 15000 mile and $529 for 35000 mile. I think I'll be purchasing Audi Care.

My car hasn't been delivered yet so I haven't studied the 'fine print'. If Audi recommends servicing the DCT at the same interval as does VW (same transmission) it will not be included in the Audi Care prepaid service plan. Based on what Audi says (in it's promotional blur on it's web site) the savings amount to about 34% which doesn't appear to factor in DCT service. I guess we will both find out soon, huh?

I believe the DCT is serviced at 35,000. Audi Care covers up to 45,000.

Thanks. I'm still not sure from reading the on-line Audi brochure whether service to the dual clutch transmission is included in Audi Care. It mentions checking for leaks but not service/fluid replacement, etc. I will get this clarified before I consider buying the package.
