New A3 Owner with a question
Hey all,
I bought an 06 A3, with what I believe to be the premium package a few weeks ago, and have been browsing all the forums trying to get an idea of what I want to do first. One thing I noticed is that there isn't a ton of threads about what little DIY mods other owners do to make their cars their own. So my question is this, what did you do as a new owner to your car to make it your own? I know all the performance upgrades, but what about little things here and there that are inexpensive and easy to do?

OOOO-A3's blog has many excellent suggestions for tweaks:

One of the best ways to make those little "make it mine" teaks is with a VAG-COM interface. OOOO-A3 includes many of those ideas in his blog. One particularly cool one available only on 2006 A3's is the ability to adjust steering boost by VAG-COM.
The VAG-COM interface cable isn't cheap but it has many applications, including reading CEL codes (and clearing them) and making performance measurements. Don't bother with cheap ebay alternatives. Also, the VAG-COM support on the dedicated Fourtitude forum for troubleshooting is amazing.
